Background

At the time of its establishment in 1952, Arabaev Kyrgyz State Pedagogical University (KSPU) was the nation’s only full-time women’s pedagogical institute. Today KSPU remains the only pedagogical university in the in the Kyrgyz Republic and is a leading center in the training of highly educated and qualified teachers. The University has expanded in its mission and currently conducts both education and research.

The University Today

The University is home to a creative team of professors, staff, and undergraduate and graduate students. The community is built upon professional knowledge and interests inherited from the advanced democratic traditions of local and international pedagogical education, science, and culture.
Arabaev Kyrgyz State Pedagogical University continues to serve as a unique institution within the higher education system of the Kyrgyz Republic. The University is positioned to continue to build upon its primary role as a major center of teacher education and training in the natural, physical, and social sciences as well as the humanities. The University values its international reputation as a center of innovative research and teaching. Graduate students are very important to the continued success of the university and comprise one fourth of the total student enrolment.

Campus

The University campus is located in the nation’s capital in Bishkek City. The scenic campus features adjoining green boulevards, parks, and the nearby city center, providing a safe, enjoyable, and friendly environment for students and faculty.
